What are the procedures for booking an air ticket for an unaccompanied child?

Réponse

You cannot book tickets for children under the age of 12 who are not accompanied by an adult over the age of 18 on the Corsair website.

You must make your booking with our Customer Service. Children travelling alone (called "UM" which means "Unaccompanied Minor") are only allowed on flights operated by Corsair.
Promotional fares are not valid for UM.
Corsair has put in place procedures to ensure that unaccompanied children travel in peace and safety. These are available for different ages.

Mandatory UM
A child under 4 ans can't travel as an UM.
Between France and Canada, they are children under 5 who can't travel as UM.
The child must be accompanied by an adult, valid and autonomous person. Any child, aged 4 to 11 years old or 5 to 11 years old between France and Canada, can travel without an adult with our airline.
In this case, an accompanying fee will be applicable for children travelling alone, within the age range indicated above.
Additional fee for mandatory UM : Eur 50 per leg and per child.

Optional UM
These are people aged between 12 and 17 years (legally considered as minors in most countries, including France) for whom the parents want the same care as that provided by mandatory UMs.
Additional fee  for optional UM: Eur 75 per leg and per youth people.

Also check the police formalities for your minor child.

At check-in, the person accompanying your child must fill in a liability waiver on which he/she will indicate his/her name, address, telephone number and the contact details of the person who will meet the passenger on arrival.

Download the form for the transport of an unaccompanied minor by air, to be completed in 3 copies and to be submitted to the check-in agent on the day of departure.

Unaccompanied minor liability waiver

On boarding, a Corsair agent will take your child through customs, police and security formalities. He or she will then be given priority boarding on board the aircraft and entrusted to the Principal Cabin Crew for the duration of the flight.

On board, a special attention is given to unaccompanied children by our cabin crew to make their flight an unforgettable experience.
The reception and care of your child is based on a ritual that everyone applies in a contentious manner: your child is taken to his or her seat by our hostesses and stewards. For safety reasons, your child will be placed in a row with at least one adult. A cardboard pennant is placed above his seat to allow our flight crew to quickly identify him. A few minutes after take-off, a hot meal is served as a priority. At the departure of all our stopovers, a hot dish adapted to the children's taste is served, accompanied by a cereal bar, dried fruit, dairy products and mineral water.
To make the journey go faster, our on-board staff give him a game kit adapted to his age. They will also be able to find on board a child-friendly company magazine, the Petit Corsair. Cartoon-style cartoons will help them spend their time more pleasantly. During the school holidays, he can also enjoy feature-length cartoons. Of course, our hostesses and stewards will accompany your child to the toilet door at his request and stay on hand to reassure him during his journey.

Very important : The person accompanying an UM must remain at the airport until the aircraft takes off.

As an unaccompanied child, the young passenger may carry a dog or cat with him/her in the cabin, provided that the animal is in a regulation and closed bag. The animal must imperatively remain in its bag throughout the flight.
At the end of the disembarkation, the head of Cabin will entrust your child to one of our airport agents. He will take your child through customs and police formalities and accompany him/her to the person in charge of welcoming him/her on arrival. Our airport agents will only be able to entrust your child to this person if it is the person indicated on the discharge form filled in at the beginning. Otherwise, Corsair will notify the telephone number on the liability waiver and your child will be sent on the next flight back to his or her place of origin. The return ticket and the costs resulting from the child's care between arrival and re-routing (hotel, meals, transport, etc.) will then be the responsibility of the parents or legal guardians.
