What are the checked baggage allowances?

    Checked Baggage Allowance in Economy Class

    • Basic fare: no checked baggage included.
    • Classic and Flex fares between Paris, the Caribbean, and the Indian Ocean: 1 bag with a maximum weight of 23 kg (height + length + width = 158 cm).
    • Classic and Flex fares between Paris and Africa (Mali, Côte d'Ivoire, Benin): 2 checked bags of 23 kg each included.
    • Students (upon presentation of a valid school certificate for the current year and purchase of a student fare ticket): 2 checked bags of 23 kg each included.
    • Youth (ages 12–24) traveling to or from Fort-de-France or Pointe-à-Pitre: 2 checked bags of 23 kg each included with the purchase of a youth fare ticket (ages 12–24).
    • The checked baggage allowance applies to all adults and children aged 2 years and older.

    Checked Baggage Allowance in Premium Class

    • You are entitled to 2 bags of up to 23 kg each for all destinations except Africa (Mali, Côte d'Ivoire, Benin) (height + length + width = max 158 cm and max 95 cm in height per bag). 
      This allowance applies to all adults and children aged 2 years and older.
    • For travel to Africa (Mali, Côte d'Ivoire, Benin), the allowance is 2 x 32 kg.

    Checked Baggage Allowance in Business Class

    • You are entitled to 2 bags of up to 32 kg each (height + length + width = max 158 cm and max 95 cm in height per bag). 
      This allowance applies to all adults and children aged 2 years and older.

    Note for all travel classes: 
    If you are traveling with a stroller (any type) for a child older than 2 years on the date of travel, it is not included in their checked baggage allowance. You will need to pay a surcharge for this extra baggage if the stroller exceeds the 2 bags allowed.

    Corsair Club Members: 
    If your status is Gold or Platinum, you are entitled to:

    • one additional 23 kg bag in Economy class, provided that your fare includes at least one checked bag (no extra baggage if your fare does not include at least one checked bag).
    • one additional 23 kg bag in Premium class.
    • one additional 32 kg bag in Business class. 
       

    Infants (0–23 months): 
    In the hold: 1 bag with a maximum weight of 10 kg (height + length + width = max 158 cm).

    • A stroller, car seat, or travel crib may be added free of charge.
    • No free cabin baggage is allowed. Infant accessories must be placed in the accompanying adult’s cabin baggage. 
       

    Youth (12–24 years old) traveling to or from Pointe-à-Pitre or Fort-de-France: 
    In Economy class, a baggage allowance of 2 bags of 23 kg each per trip is granted for all tickets purchased at the youth fare (12–24 years old). 

    Note: 
    Promotional fares do not include the additional baggage, even if you selected the "youth" category during your flight search.

    Students (18–29 years old): 
    In Economy class, a baggage allowance of 2 bags of 23 kg each per trip is granted for all tickets purchased at the student fare (18–29 years old), upon presentation of a valid school certificate for the current year. 

    Important: promotional fare purchases do not include the extra baggage for students.

    How to prepare your checked baggage?

     

      Dangerous Goods

      The passenger bears full responsibility in the event of an onboard incident caused by undeclared dangerous goods transported in baggage under their name. 

      To properly prepare your baggage, please review this regulation issued by the French Ministry for the Ecological and Inclusive Transition.

      “Hidden” Components or Goods That May Be Dangerous:

      • electrical devices,
      • wheelchair batteries,
      • certain car parts,
      • certain diving equipment,
      • certain medical supplies,
      • camping gear,
      • photography supplies.

      Important: diving flashlights must be separated from their power sources (batteries, bulbs, accumulators, etc.) and placed in cabin baggage. 
      Diving tanks are accepted in the hold. They must be fully emptied and uncapped and are included in the checked baggage allowance.

       

      Prohibited Goods

      For hygiene and safety reasons, certain goods are strictly prohibited on board, whether in the cabin or in the hold. You are fully responsible if you transport one or more of these undeclared dangerous items at check-in.

      • Sharp instruments: knives, scissors…
      • Work tools: drills, screwdrivers, saws, hammers...
      • Blunt objects: baseball bats, skateboards...
      • Liquids over 100 mL and beverages.

      (*) all items prohibited in the hold are also prohibited in the cabin.

      • Explosives: fireworks, flares, rockets, firecrackers, snap caps, etc.
      • Compressed gases, flammable or not: tear gas, camping stoves with cartridges or butane bottles, gas canisters, large aerosols, Freon, helium, etc.
      • Flammable liquids: fuel stoves and refills, paints and thinners, varnishes, automotive lacquers, fuels, motorized devices with fuel tanks not completely emptied (mopeds, motorcycles, karts, lawnmowers, chainsaws, generators), etc.
      • Flammable solids: like match starters, BBQ lighters.
      • Toxic products: toxic or anesthetic substances, pesticides, insecticides, infectious materials or microbial cultures, etc.
      • Organic peroxides and oxidizers: common household products such as hydrogen peroxide, bleach, cleaning products, chemicals, powdered or liquid fertilizers (chlorate or nitrate), herbicides, etc.
      • Radioactive materials: equipment, products, instruments, or devices containing radioactive substances, even if considered regulation-exempt.
      • Corrosive substances: batteries, electrolytes, mercury barometers and thermometers, acids, bleach, etc.
      • Miscellaneous hazardous materials: such as dry ice, etc.
      • Ammunition: Regulation 185/2010 (§ 5, appendix 5b) now prohibits the transport of ammunition in checked baggage. Ammunition must be transported via cargo.
      • Electric hoverboards, scooters, and other self-balancing devices and unicycles.
      • Due to fire risks from overheating, MACBOOK PRO 15'' laptops are strictly prohibited in checked baggage but are allowed in cabin baggage. On board, the use and charging of these devices is strictly prohibited throughout the flight.
      • Electric weapons: stun guns (tasers), batons, explosives, compressed gases, lithium batteries, etc.
      • Firearms are allowed in the hold provided a hunting license or shooting license and proof of ownership are presented.



      You are fully responsible if you transport one or more of these undeclared dangerous goods at check-in.


      Of course, for your personal comfort, food items (such as chips, cookies, and candy) are allowed in the cabin. 
      Your valuables such as cameras or tablets are also allowed in cabin baggage.

      Valuables, Fragile Items, and Drones

      Please ensure that your baggage is securely locked and labeled both inside and outside with your full name and permanent address. 

      Important: The airline is not liable for the following items transported in checked baggage:

      • money (cash, credit cards, checkbooks),
      • securities, business documents/ID papers,
      • medication, jewelry, car/home keys,
      • samples,
      • valuable items (camera, camcorder, laptop, phone, hi-fi equipment, electronic games, electronic organizers, consoles, drones*, etc.)
      • fragile items (vases, paintings, etc.).


      For the last two categories in particular, we recommend taking out private short-term insurance to cover these types of items and protect you in case of damage or loss.

      *Transporting Your Drone

      If the lithium battery weight is less than or equal to 100 Wh or less than or equal to 2 g: the device may travel in both cabin and hold baggage. 
      Spare batteries may only be carried in cabin baggage. 
      If the lithium battery weight is greater than 100 Wh and less than or equal to 160 Wh, or greater than 2 g and less than or equal to 8 g: the device may travel in both cabin and hold baggage. 
      Spare batteries are limited to 2 in cabin baggage and are prohibited in the hold.

      Oversized Baggage

      If your checked baggage exceeds the standard size (total H + W + L over 158 cm), you will be required to pay an additional fee. This surcharge applies to all types of checked baggage—whether included in your baggage allowance, granted through the Corsair Club loyalty program, or purchased as additional baggage.

      Sports Equipment

      Traveling with sports equipment (windsurf board, golf bag, fishing rod…)? The conditions for transporting sports equipment apply only to flights operated by Corsair.

      The conditions for transporting a musical instrument apply only to flights operated by Corsair.

      Other Types of Baggage

      Plastic wrapping

      Departing from Paris-Orly 4

      You can secure your checked baggage by wrapping it in plastic film. 
      Please note: taped baggage is not accepted for checked transport.

      When departing from Orly 4, only orange plastic-wrapped baggage by the company Excess Baggage, bearing their logo, will be accepted at Corsair check-in counters.

      Excess Baggage is located at Gate 45D in Orly 4 Airport, near the Corsair counter.
